Lib Dems take Red Lodge from Tories12.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 6th Jun 2008 In a spectacular by-election victory Liberal Democrats in neighbouring Forest heath District Council stormed to victory with 55% of the vote taking the seat from the Conservatives after their existing Councillor resigned. Labour's local collapse was highlighted by their failure to even find a candidate. A characteristic of this by-election was the high turnout at over 38%.
